Chicago Rooftop Views

As you change your point of view, your views bring about a change in you.

Chicagoans love little more than a rooftop bar with sweeping city views. Lucky for us, we can now add another rooftop destination to our repertoire. Wednesday, April 29 marks the official opening day for Cerise Rooftop, located inside the Virgin Hotels Chicago. Nick and I had the opportunity to check out the “modern, familiar, unknown and unashamed” space (including the amazing views) last week. Once open, guests can expect “a mix of crafty cocktails and Izakaya inspired culinary creations.”

Here are the city views from Cerise Rooftop…

DESIGN FEATURES

The entire rooftop is wrapped in a large glass wall (railing), topped off with a metal cap. The glass is expansive and seamless, providing unique and unobstructed views of the city below. The space is defined by large-scale planters and oversized, geometrical outdoor furniture. The unconventional choice of lighting is worth pointing out. They are industrial work lights wrapped in bright orange extension cords. They illuminate the space with a warm yellow glow. For me, they were one of the most memorable design elements in the space.

OTHER SHOTS

Below are some candid shots of Nick shooting from the rooftop. He captured some phenomenal shots of the skyline views. You can also check out Virgin Hotels Chicago on Twitter and Instagram for more photos and event news.
