Cubs Win it All

Cubs Win it All

After 108 years, the Chicago Cubs won the World Series…

THE CURSE IS BROKEN!

What a ride! The 2016 Chicago Cubs have gifted us one of the greatest moments in all of sports history. After 108 years, they finally clinched the title of World Series Champions. The journey to this championship brought Chicagoans together in a way I’ve never witnessed before. The energy and camaraderie was palpable. The stories from life-long fans, and the memories of fans who passed on before this moment, tugged on the heart strings. Young and old, democrats and republicans, and maybe even a few White Sox fans – for a moment in time set aside all differences and came together to celebrate the greatest victory this city has ever seen. And man, was it breathtaking!

Officials estimate that 5 million people showed up to the Chicago Cubs parade and rally. It’s nearly impossible to say if that is an accurate estimation, but one thing I know for sure – from our vantage point in the air – it was a jaw-dropping sea of Cubbie blue. We first headed north and flew above Wrigley Field as the team gathered to board the trolleys. Then we headed south to capture the massive crowds descending on to Grant Park. And descend they did! I’ve never seen anything like it, and doubt I ever will again. This was a helicopter flight I will never forget. I mean, we literally flew the “W” – it doesn’t get much more real than that. This year was THE YEAR! Congrats, Cubbies. You made our city so proud.

“We did NOT suck.” Manager Joe Maddon

“It happened, baby.” First baseman Anthony Rizzo

“How long has it been since the Cubs have won the World Series? The answer is zero years.” Owner Tom Ricketts

“Awards mean a lot, but they don’t say it all. The people in baseball mean more to me than statistics.” Mr. Cub, Ernie Banks
